"Definity"

Salut,

Welcome to Flash of the BladeTM.

With the launch of this site, we begin the journey of becoming the single most valuable fencing resource in existence. Much of this task will be accomplished not by providing new material, but by collecting, organizing, and publicizing existing sources of information. While not a terribly glamorous prospect, it nevertheless will prove invaluable to accomplishing our goal in the most efficient means possible.

In light of our formidable task, we earnestly seek your assistance. Undoubtedly, if Flash of the Blade (FotB) is to become the single most valuable resource to you — the fencer, the instructor, the organizer, the supporter — then you will most certainly be required to define "valuable." We need you to communicate to us not only what you wish to be included in FotB, but also how you prefer it presented.

Your input is critical to our success; your criticism, most welcome. Please make extreme use of our feedback form, and do not hesitate to submit any content that you believe beneficial to the fencing community.

As you may have already discovered, FotB currently offers precious little content. The wisdom of launching such an ambitious venture upon this meager (and nearly laughable) foundation was soberly debated. In the end, however, this knowledge prevails: Greatness only comes to those who act as though they are great when they are yet insignificant. It is simply a matter of defining success by action. This concept, I call definity.

To this end, we give you Flash of the Blade.

Best Regards,

Jason M. Purcell
