- Notes
-
The overall quality of the action in this tournament was average.
Though the action in this tournament was spotty, Gray's performance was as solid as any could ever be, as he was undaunted when behind and unimpressed when ahead. His handwork was nearly impeccable, particularly his elastic-like direct parries and acute point control.
Hart, a very strong fencer and a tourney co-favorite along with Gray, fought hard and well throughout the event. Unfortunately, he ran into a brick wall during the championship bout in the form of Gray.
Williams and Harris are both wild, spirited, aggressive, and determined fencers. Their bout in the finals was a "fencing" spectacle like no other, exemplifying, justifying, and validating the Slinging' Steel name.
