Salut!
Well, it's three weeks late to the day, but the re-located and re-modeled MSU Fencing web site is now fully online!
Though Greg, Spencer, myself, and others have been working diligently behind the scenes the past thirty days, the official re-opening of this web site is the first public step in the journey to make Murray a leading US fencing center. Pardon me, come again? What's that, I'm a lunatic? Why, thank you so much for your tremendous words of encouragement: Every great accomplishment in the history of mankind sounded ludicrous the first few hundred times or so that it was verbalized.
For those of you who haven't yet abandoned me, preliminary plans for step two of this trek can be viewed here. The gist is to stage, in Murray, the largest (in terms of number of competitors) and most professional fencing tournament in Kentucky Division history.
Now, as I see it, you have three choices as MSU fencers and supporters:
1) You can rear a repugnant, naysaying head in gruff defiance, discouraging those who would reach for something greater and doing your part to drag us all further into the hellish depths in which you surely must dwell.
2) You can do nothing and say nothing, standing in equal readiness to bellow "I told you so" in the event of failure and to adorn yourself with unearned glory in the event of success.
3) You can achieve the magnificent. Walk on. Grow. Fight. Succeed. Win.
Those who would become greater: contact me to begin your journey.
Best Regards,
Jason M. Purcell jpurcell@prefer.net
